Grobnik & Čavle
A view worth admiring when you climb the historic Louisiana road to the Buzdohanj plateau from which you can see the Grobnik Alps. Sometimes they are gray, other times green or blue, but the people of Rijeka and their guests may prefer them when they are - snow white. It is a link to the slopes of Platak, a regional sports, recreation and tourist center, and in winter the ski resort is unique in that you ski while looking at the sea. From the lookout point of the City of Grobnik there is a beautiful view, and if that is not enough for us, we can go down to the Grobnik Airport and see all the beauty and splendor of the municipality of Čavle and beyond in one flight. Bakar
Bakar, 13 kilometres from Rijeka, is one of the oldest towns in the northern Adriatic and was granted the status of royal town by Maria Theresa in 1779. It was built like an amphitheatre on a hill and its historical nucleus was declared a cultural monument in 1968. You will remember Bakar by its flavours as well - the famous sparkling wine “Bakarska vodica” made from a specific Beline vine grown on stone walls built by diligent farmer’s hands - dry stone walls, recently declared an ethno zone and entered in the cultural register. Another famous product is the Bakar “baškot”, a toasted or fresh baked product shaped in a circle...
Kastav
Situated, as one poet said “ponad mora, kano soko” ("above the sea, like a hawk"), so similar and yet so different from other towns in this region, with its soul in a nest made of stone, it is large enough for everyone willing to experience it in its wholeness.
Kastav gives something to everyone and at the same time receives something in return. One who has listened once to the echo of their footsteps on the ancient cobblestone that many have walked before returns to it over and over again.

Fužine is the choice of lovers of nature and active vacations, and those who like to flee from overcrowded tourist spots in the summer but still want to enjoy easily accessible beaches. The Vrelo cave with its mountain spring, lake and abyss is the biggest attraction. As is usually the case, it was discovered by accident in the mid-20th century and because of the lay of the land, with no steps, it is the only tourist cave in Europe accessible to people with disabilities and suitable for children of all ages.
